Blake-Blackston Post #77

American Legion Blake-Blackston Post #77

Strategic Plan

In anticipation of the American Legion Blake-Blackston Post #77’s 100th anniversary in 2020, the Post #77 Executive Committee embarked on a strategic planning process to develop a blueprint of actions that will have a sustained and effective impact on the community. The American Legion Post #77 is an evolving 501(c)19 non-profit organization in Talbot County, MD with an annual balanced operating budget of $220,000 which provides support for veterans as well as numerous programs and activities for the community’s residents.

This strategic plan will outline where the organization wants to go, and identify resources, goals and objectives to support the impact the plan seeks. The result will provide the innovative steps needed to fulfill the mission and vision of American Legion Post #77.

Throughout this process, we hope to answer some of the following questions:

• How well does the American Legion Post #77 perform and why?

• Is it a proactive organization with efficient and effective operations?

• Is the American Legion Post #77 meeting its needs and the needs of the community?

• What are the American Legion’s measures of success and accountability, and does it have the capacity to do more?
